Mitzvah Marathon to remember victims

The fourth annual Good Deed Mitzvah Marathon, commemorating the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the Allen Street Gate on East College Avenue.

The event, sponsored by the Chabad Jewish Student Organization and Chabad of Penn State, is designed to present people with the opportunity to do a good deed in memory of Sept. 11 victims.

Tables will be set up at the gate, where participants will be able to do a good deed, such as writing cards for poor children, buying a letter in a Torah Scroll, say a prayer or give to a charity.

Participants will fill out a form to document their deed to attach to a picture of a Sept. 11 victim, then fasten both to a "wall of honor."

At 12:45 p.m., a moment of silence will take place.

For more information, call Rabbi Nosson Meretsky at 863-4929 or 777-2707.
