Israeli soldiers to share stories

CHAPEL HILL --Two Israeli combat soldiers who recently returned from battle in Lebanon will speak at UNC Monday in a presentation sponsored by Chabad of Duke/UNC and Taglit-Birthright Israel: Mayanot.

The soldiers, who work as Mayanot's program coordinators as civilians, will discuss their close confrontations with Hezbollah, the emotions they dealt with, the faith they relied on and the ideals that inspired them.

"A Tale of 2 Soldiers" will be presented in Gardner 105 from 7:30-8:30 p.m.. The event is co-sponsored by Alpha Epsilon Pi, Sigma Rho Lambda, Hillel, We Stand with Israel of Durham-Chapel Hill and Ambassadors for Israel-Carolina. There will be a video and photo presentation and a question and answer session.

There will be a special prayer and candle-lighting ceremony to commemorate the lives of those who perished on 9/11 and victims of terror worldwide. At 7 p.m., there will be a 20-minute presentation of their talk in Hebrew.
