Chabad welcomes all Jews for High Holy Days

Chabad of the Conejo will host High Holiday Services at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel. Some 1,500 adults and children are expected to attend.

The hotel's 8,000-square-foot grand ballroom of the Hyatt will become a large sanctuary during the holidays.

The traditional service is blended with contemporary and meaningful insights making the High Holidays a link to the past and an inspiration for the future. Insights into many of the prayers and customs are explained during the services.

Rosh Hashanah will be celebrated from Fri. evening, Sept. 22 through Sun. evening, Sept. 24. Yom Kippur begins Sun. evening, Oct. 1 and concludes Oct. 2.

The services are open to all Jews. There are no membership fees or prior affiliation necessary to attend services or any program at Chabad. Hebrew-English prayerbooks are provided.

A full staff of educators and rabbinical students will conduct Junior Congregation for children. This program includes prayers, stories, songs, contests, prizes and refreshments.

In addition to the services, special arrangements have been made to accommodate those interested in spending the days of Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur at the hotel for a High Holiday Retreat. First class accommodations include glatt kosher cuisine and special hotel room rates. Early reservations for the retreat are encouraged to guarantee a space.
