DRIVING rain did not dampen the spirits of a stalwart group of Queensland Chabadniks who celebrated Lag b’Omer south of the border on Monday.
At the end of a long drive along unlit, wet roads, some 180 people from Surfers Paradise Chabad Centre let the smell of a bonfire, music, and the aroma of a barbecue guide them to the party, held inland from Byron Bay.
The barbecue, held at the property of Israelis David and Karni Nakash, was a great success despite the weather, according to Surfers Chabad Centre coordinator David Toben.
