At a New Year's Day party, the new Chabad rabbi and wife were in attendance. Several remarked to me that they didn't think it was right for him to be invited as "he's just here to recruit us." "Name one, just one congregant," I replied, "who's going to be comfortable at their services sitting on the other side of the curtain from their spouses." Of course, my family ended up being invited to Shabbos dinner.
