Miracle of Lights on Ice in California

(IsraelNN.com) A Chanukah parade near Encino California in two weeks will feature a seven-foot Menorah carved out of ice. A parade toward the event will include 40 cars carrying four-foot painted Menorahs on the rooftops. The Menorahs were made under the direction of a Chabad rabbi according to a design of the 12th century Jewish sage Moses Maimonides (Rambam).

Chabad continues a long-standing tradition of publicizing the holiday, which also is called The Miracle of Lights. However, the reform movement has maintained a policy of "separating church and state." It also is against publicizing the holiday on public property, arguing that the mitzvah of publicizing the miracle applies only on one's own property.
